These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of ACT (the "Platform"), a learning management system used for database-management coursework. By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
1. Who may use the Platform
The Platform is provided for students, instructors and administrators affiliated with the course or institution that operates it. Accounts are issued for educational use only.
- You must provide accurate registration and profile information, and keep it current.
- If you are a minor, your use must be permitted by your school and your parent or guardian.
- Accounts are personal. Do not share your credentials or let another person use your account.
2. Your account
You are responsible for everything that happens under your account. Choose a strong, unique password and tell us immediately at rondinabrybry1@gmail.com if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
Students must complete their profile (name, student ID, program, year level and section) before most features unlock. This is how submissions are matched to the correct student and grade record.
3. Academic integrity
Coursework submitted through the Platform is subject to your institution's academic integrity rules. In particular, you agree not to:
- Submit work that is not your own, or present another student's submission as yours.
- Share exam questions, answer keys or solutions with students who have not yet submitted.
- Attempt to view, alter or delete another user's submissions, grades or feedback.
- Attempt to bypass exam time limits, attempt limits or late-submission restrictions.
Suspected violations may be reported to your instructor or institution and may result in suspension of your account, in addition to any academic penalty imposed by your school.
4. AI-assisted grading
Some submissions are graded with the help of an automated system that uses a third-party AI service (Google's Gemini API). You should understand that:
- The text of your submission is sent to that third-party service for the purpose of grading.
- AI-generated scores and feedback are provisional. They are not released to you until an instructor or administrator reviews and returns them.
- Your instructor remains responsible for your final grade and may override any automated score.
- Automated grading can be wrong. Raise concerns with your instructor through the normal channels.

5. SQL terminals and personal databases
The Platform provides SQL practice terminals and lets each student create up to 5 personal databases for coursework. These are teaching sandboxes, not secure storage. You agree not to:
- Store real personal data about other people, credentials, financial records, health information or any other sensitive data in a practice database.
- Use the terminal to attack, probe or overload the Platform, its host, or any other system — including attempts to read files, escape the sandbox or escalate privileges.
- Upload malware, or import files intended to corrupt or exhaust storage.
Practice databases may be reset, archived or deleted at the end of a term, or when storage limits are reached. Keep your own copy of anything you want to retain.
6. Acceptable use
You also agree not to:
- Post unlawful, harassing, defamatory or discriminatory content in discussions.
- Impersonate another student, instructor or administrator.
- Copy, scrape or redistribute course materials, activities or exam content outside the class.
- Interfere with other users' access, or use automated tools to generate excessive load.
- Reverse engineer or attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform.
7. Course content and ownership
Course materials, activities, exam questions and solutions are owned by the instructor or institution that created them and are provided to you for your own study only. You keep ownership of the work you submit, and you grant the Platform and your instructors the right to store, display and evaluate that work for educational and record-keeping purposes.
8. Availability
The Platform runs on shared hosting and limits concurrent access to about 250 users at a time. When that limit is reached, new visitors see a "server busy" page and must try again shortly. Access may also be interrupted for maintenance, upgrades or reasons beyond our control.
Plan around this during assessments. The Platform is provided "as is", without warranty of uninterrupted or error-free operation. Do not leave a timed exam to the last available minute.
9. Suspension and termination
Your account may be suspended or removed if you breach these Terms, if your enrolment ends, or if your institution asks us to. You may request deletion of your account by contacting us, subject to the record-retention rules described in the Privacy Policy — academic records generally must be kept even after an account is closed.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Platform's operators are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost data, or lost coursework arising from your use of the Platform. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
11. Changes to these Terms
These Terms may be updated as the Platform changes. When they do, the "last updated" date at the top of this page changes. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email. Continuing to use the Platform after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
